A bit of tranquillity on the Goedereed dikes - this couple promenading was the detail that would make the image that bit extra interesting.
Goedereed, Netherlands. Late February 2010.
The salt mines by Salin-de-Giraud in Provence, with their very strong and distinctive colour. The contrast in the landscape from the very blue sky to the magenta/purple water in the mines is quite striking. I believe the colour comes from when the water filters through the ground.
On the search for the entrance to the Badlands National Park in South Dakota we were fascinated by the classic hay ball in a field.
At the 2012 Port of Spain Carnival in Trinidad.
This guy came sneaking up on me - it was a weird feeling, a mix of excitement and unrest. I know it's just a costume, but it was quite a striking one with the red face-paint and the way he moved towards me as if I was the prey.
Second time visiting the Port of Spain carnival in Trinidad. The atmosphere completely intoxicating - it's a must to see if you have the chance. This was the second time experiencing it, but definitely not the last time - and next time I want to be in the main parade (Pretty Mas).
This was captured late at night when we arrived back into the Chefchaouen Medina after a hike up in the mountains nearby. This village is one of my favourites so far - so peaceful and relaxed. Very much in contrast with the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh.
